Mavs 2013-2014

Just did finish last season and now we have to worry about next. This time it means that the Mavericks with Mark Cuban And Dirk, are at the helm of trying to get Dwight Howard by, more than likely, giving him a show and tell presentation of the wonderful reasons it would be great for all around for Howard to come to Dallas.

I for one am torn about it.Dwight still seems immature to me. He didn't like how things were going in Orlando so he threw a hissy fit or two and sat out games and contrary to what Dwight Howard and the Magic say, he had something to do with getting Van Gundy fired and then he moves onto the L.A Lakers. He really didn't pan out like a lot were expecting him to. Now some blame the coaches and some blame Dwight and a few may have blamed both. I kind of blame both but mainly Dwight there is just too much a whiny attitude , you know not accepting his responsibilities on the court all the time and trying to blame someone else. He just can't swim in a big pond. He needs to be the big man on a small to medium campus. Which has led me to this thought, if Dwight Howard comes to Dallas he better remember he maybe lucky to be the THIRD or maybe even the FOURTH big man on campus behind Dirk, Shawn Marion and maybe Vince Carter. Dwight needs to put on his big boy pants and suck it up and play ball.

I guess Dwight will be going to Houston!! I remember when he came to the Lakers, we were all excited. He is cute, but did turn out very much a disappointment! He is a crybaby!

Well, Greg Oden is going to go to the Miami Heat...Thank God! Sad to say but the man is a gimp. His butt has seen the bench more than the floor because he is injury proned and that is something that the Mavericks do not need to deal with at this, what should have been rebuilding from the basement level with Dirk as it's foundation. Derek Rose is another that seems to be injury proned, but at least he has seen more floor action than Greg.

Hello. I know it is late( at least for me) so I will be quick and post the link. Dirk is considering play internationally again in the summer of 2016, when he will be 38, so that Germany can have a chance of clinching a spot in the Olympics in Rio.

Very cool!!! I'll be looking forward to seeing him playing!!! In some ways I'm upset (me aging, 2016, wow 3 years from now) with the passage of time, but on the other hand looking forward to events like the Olympics is cool, esp. if Dirk will be playing!!!

You thought Americans didn't give Dirk Nowitzki his due?

It took Nowitzki carrying the Mavericks to the 2011 title, earning the Finals MVP award in the process, for him to be recognized as one of the all-time great players in NBA history. He shattered the soft Euro stereotype with clutch moment after clutch moment during the Mavs' magical championship run.

Now, Americans give Nowitizki the kind of respect fit for a man who has 11 All-Star invitations, an MVP and Finals MVP. In our part of the world, he's considered unquestionably the best European basketball product ever, as well as one of the elite power forwards of all-time.

Apparently, Europeans aren't quite as enamored with Nowitzki. A HoopHype.com survey of 30 Eurobasket players ranked Nowitziki as fifth among the all-time best pro Euro ballers.

The four ranked ahead of Nowitzki: Drazen Petrovick, Tony Parker, Arvydas Sabonis and Dejan Bodiroga.

Bodiroga, a Serbian, never played in the NBA. Petrovick, Parker and Sabonis have a combined 25,007 NBA points - - 44 fewer than Nowitzki.

Clearly, the players based their votes on accomplishments in international ball. Nowitzki dragging Germany to the 2008 Olympics apparently wasn't that impressive.
